MEET mRS. pHILLIPS
Hello and welcome families and friends of room 11! My name is Mrs. Phillips and I am thrilled to begin this school year with my new class of first graders. This will be my 23rd year teaching. I have been privileged to have spent my entire career at Springmyer Elementary, a school that I think of as a second home filled with people who feel like family. I taught kindergarten my first year and have taught first grade for the last twenty-one years. I am lucky to teach with an amazing team that works together to provide a fun and successful first grade experience for our students.
I grew up on the westside of town, the second youngest of eight children. I love spending time with my big family, which now includes 16 nieces and nephews and a few great nieces and nephews as well. There is always something to celebrate with such a large family!
My wonderful husband and I have been married for 20 years and have a beautiful daughter named Grace who will turn 11 in November. She brings us immense joy and we are having so much fun watching her learn and grow. She is a fifth grader at St. Antoninus.
Outside of school, I treasure spending time with my husband and Gracie at the park, Kings Island, and the Zoo. I love watching Grace play soccer, softball, basketball and volleyball. Reading books is one of my favorite things to do when I have extra time. I can't read on school nights though, because once I start a book I often have trouble putting it down! We enjoy traveling to Nashville to visit my husband's family, trying out new restaurants and cheering on FC Cincinnati, the Reds and Bengals.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of my new students and their families.
Don't hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
See you soon,
Mrs. Phillips

We enjoyed a trip to Orlando this past summer. We visited Universal Studios and all four Disney parks. We had so much fun! We especially loved The Wizarding World of Harry Potter as we are all big Harry Potter fans.
Grace is excited to be starting fifth grade. Grace plays soccer on an OH Premier team.
